Factors that Prevent Access

In accordance with Department of Defense and Department of the Army Standards:

Visitors will be denied access to the installation if any of the following derogatory information is discovered in the individual’s criminal history:

  • A current arrest warrant
  • Felony conviction within the past 10 years
  • Conviction of sexual assault, armed robbery, rape, child molestation, production or possession of child pornography, trafficking in humans, murder, homicide, manslaughter, and drug possession with intent to sell or distribute
  • Registered sex offender
  • Felony conviction of a firearms or explosives charge
  • Inability to verify the individual’s claimed identity
  • The individual has a U.S. conviction for espionage, sabotage, treason, terrorism
  • Engaged in acts or activities designed to overthrow the U.S. Government by force
  • Listed in the Terrorism Screening Database (TSDB)
  • Criminal arrest information presenting a potential threat to the good order, discipline, and/or health and safety of the installation.

If derogatory information is found during the background check process, access will be denied, with a review of the record to be conducted within two business days of the background check. This review may result in a denial of access to Rock Island Arsenal.

Any individual denied access based on these criteria may file an appeal for reconsideration with the Installation Commander.
